
Divya Kannan
Divya Kannan is an Assistant Professor at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Shiv Nadar University Delhi NCR. She specializes in 19th and 20th century South Asian history, with research interests in the history of education, childhood and youth, caste, gender studies, social movements, colonial violence, Christian missions, and public and oral histories. She earned her Ph.D. and M.Phil. in Modern Indian History from Jawaharlal Nehru University in 2017 and 2012, respectively. Her monograph, Contested Childhoods: Caste and Education in Colonial Kerala, was published by Cambridge University Press in 2024. She held a Transnational Doctoral Research Fellowship (2013-16) and a Research Fellowship at the Georg-Eckert Institute for International Textbook Research (2016). Previously, she served as an Assistant Professor at Miranda House College, University of Delhi (2017-18).
