Manu V. Devadevan is associate professor of History at the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. He studied Sociology at the Annamalai University and History at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, before obtaining PhD from the Mangalore University in 2022.

He is author of several works on History, including “A Prehistory of Hinduism” and “The ‘Early Medieval’ origins of India” in English, “Prithviyallodagida Ghatavu” and “Shankhakshetrada Kannu” in Kannada, and “Avakashikal Illatha Bhoomi” in Malayalam. He has published three volumes of poetry in Kannada and translation of the twelfth century vachanas of Allama Prabhu, “God Is Dead, There Is No God”. He has been a Gonda Fellow at the International Institute of Asian Studies, Leiden.
